Ireland County Cork

On the other side of the road to where we are camped, there was a short walk that led up to Mass Rock. At the end of the 1600s the Irish were deprived of all their rights including the right to practice religion. They sought out isolated areas like this for clandestine masses. You can see some mountain climbing sheep in the bottom photo! A guy pulled up in his ute, his dog jumped out and a few whistles later was rounding up the sheep and getting them back where they should be. We watched with interest as the dog then came back and jumped in the ute and off they drove again.
